The truth about betting systems

Every casino player has a moment when he wonders about the efficiency of different sports betting systems that fill out books and websites. Do they really work? Can a strategy guarantee a certain profit? Which is the best betting strategy? These are just some of the most common questions that players wonder about.
There are three categories of betting systems: positive progression betting systems, negative progression betting systems and insurance betting systems. In positive progression betting systems the bet must be increased after every bet won. These types of betting systems are very popular especially because it requires a small bankroll to begin with.
Negative progression betting systems are based on increasing you bet after you lose. This makes them riskier and they also require larger bankrolls to start with. The idea behind these strategies is to reverse a losing streak by winning all back.
Insurance betting systems are the safest betting systems because they are based on decreased the bet each time you lose. Some experts don’t consider it a betting system so they refer to the player that uses it as the “playing it safe” casinator.
All betting systems are based on the same false principle saying that if something has not happened recently becomes more likely to occur. This is also known as the “Gambler’s Fallacy”. For example if in roulette there were three red outcomes the Gambler Fallacy says you should bet on black because will eventually turn on. In reality the probability for black to turn on is exactly the same as the reds, previous outcomes not counting in probabilities.
Some casino players are tempted to try different betting systems, believing that these can improve their game. Some of them even think that if a fish poker player can become a poker shark just by using the right strategy, the same thing can happen to a casino player if he uses the right betting strategy. This way of thinking is false because while poker game requires special skills and involves a small portion of luck, casino games are based only on luck. You cannot change your luck with strategies, you just have it or you don’t.
